Arizona Amends Civil Rights Law
July 20, 2010 - Recently,
Arizona civil rights laws (Title
41, Chapter 9, Sections 41-1404, 41-1405, 41-1461, 41-1463 and
41-1468, as added and amended by 304 (S.B. 1232)) were amended with
respect to discrimination based on a person's
disability.
Prior law listed "disability" as a protected
class. New definitions have been included and the law
now makes it illegal to discriminate "on the basis of
disability." The amended law will take effect on
July 29, 2010.
Our legal research staff has determined that this change to
Arizona civil rights law may
affect the Arizona Fair Employment labor law
poster.
