Alaska Unemployment
Insurance
11/20/09 - The Alaska Unemployment Insurance poster has been
updated to reflect percentage changes to the unemployment insurance
premiums (taxes) paid by employees and employers. An employee now
pays 27% of the unemployment insurance premiums and the employer
pays 73% of the unemployment insurance premiums. There were also
some web address changes on the poster. This is a
mandatory change.

08/14/09 - The Alabama Child Labor poster was updated to reflect
the recently signed legislation that reforms Alabama's child labor
enforcement standards and transfers the work permit process from
the public school system to the Alabama Department of Labor. The
new legislation also replaces child work permits with business
certificates and allows the department of labor to issue civil
money penalties and/or prosecution for any violation of the law.

10/26/11 - The Arizona Minimum Wage poster has been updated to
reflect an increase in the minimum wage rate from $7.35 per hour to
$7.65 per hour effective January 1, 2012.

updated to reflect a change to the time period for reporting

01/15/10 - The Department of Homeland Security recently updated its

12/06/11 - The California Fair Employment poster has been updated
to reflect a new protected category. The poster clarifies that
discrimination on the basis of gender, gender identity and gender
expression is prohibited in employment.

12/06/11 - The California FMLA (Notice A and B) posters have been
updated to reflect that an employer may not interfere with,
restrain or deny leave to eligible workers under the California
FMLA and pregnancy disability leave law. It also prohibits
employers from terminating health care coverage due to her
disability by pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical
condition.

employees of the new Connecticut Paid Sick Leave Law. Employers may
satisfy this notification requirement by posting this poster in

who have employees in certain service industries and who are
non-exempt (hourly) employees from the FLSA.

03/30/11 - The District of Columbia, Office of Human Rights has
released a new poster regarding the right to breastfeed in the
workplace. The poster provides a summary of the rights of women to
breastfeed their children, employer responsibilities and how an
employee can file a claim if she is being discriminated against
under the Act.

07/10/08 - The District of Columbia Minimum Wage poster was updated
to reflect an increase to the state minimum wage. The state minimum
wage will increase to $7.55 an hour effective July 24, 2008 and to
$8.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The poster was also updated
with information about the District of Columbia's new Accrued Sick
and Safe Leave Act of 2008, which requires employers to provide
paid leave to employees for illnesses and absences associated with
domestic violence or sexual abuse. The poster was also updated with

Professional Security Amendment Act of 2008. The state also added

reflect that on January 1, 2011, the minimum wage in Florida will
remain unchanged. The current Florida minimum wage rate will remain

information regarding the 2010 Florida minimum wage. The
poster now clarifies that Florida minimum wage is recalculated
yearly on September 30 based on the Consumer Price Index but in
2009 the new federal minimum wage took effect. In deciding
whether the federal or state minimum wage applies, federal law
dictates that businesses must pay the higher of the two. The
federal minimum wage will prevail over the state until such time as
the Florida minimum wage becomes higher than the federal rate.

September 30 based on the Consumer Price Index and effective every
year on January 1) exceeds the federal rate.

it never specifically prohibited discrimination in public

added the words "public accommodations" to its poster.

the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an
increase in the state minimum wage for small employers (those who

UT Poster Changes
Utah Unemployment
Insurance
08/02/11 - The Utah Unemployment Insurance poster has been updated
to reflect that unemployment insurance specifically provides
payments to qualified workers who are unemployed through no fault
of their own and are able, available, and seeking full-time work.
The poster also indicates that the Department of Workforce Services
is a no fee service available online or by phone. Some changes were
also made to the addresses and phone numbers of the state
employment centers.

02/20/09 - The Utah Workers' Compensation poster was updated with
additional information on how to report an accident. An employer is
required to fill out the employer's first report of injury form and
provide employees with a copy. Employers must also send the report
to their insurance company and the Labor Commission. The agency
also removed the TDD phone number from the poster.

reflect a change in the definition of who is qualified to receive
unemployment insurance payments. New information was also added to

VT Poster Changes
Vermont Minimum
Wage
11/07/11 - The Vermont Minimum Wage poster has been updated to
reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum
wage was increased to $8.46 an hour effective January 1, 2012. The
basic wage for tipped employees also increased to $4.10 an hour,
with a maximum tip credit allowance of $4.36 an hour.

10/15/10 - The Vermont Minimum Wage has been updated to reflect an
increase in the minimum wage. The Vermont Department of Labor has
increased the minimum wage from $8.06 per hour to $8.15 per hour
effective January 1, 2011.

07/11/09 - The Vermont Smoke-Free Workplace poster was updated to
reflect the state's new 2009 Smoking in the Workplace law. Vermont
recently amended its Smoking in the Workplace law to prohibit
smoking inside all areas of the workplace. Prior to this amendment,
the law allowed employers to designate smoking areas if they obeyed
certain rules. Now the law requires all indoor areas of workplaces
to be 100% smoke- free. The Vermont Department of Health revised
the poster to reflect the new 2009 smoke-free law.

10/15/08 - The Vermont Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect
an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage was
increased to $8.06 an hour effective January 1, 2009. The basic
wage rate for tipped employees also increased to $3.91 an hour,
with a maximum tip credit allowance of $4.15 an hour.

information regarding leave for victims of domestic violence,

was reformatted to make it easier for employees to understand their
rights as a worker.

reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum
wage was increased to $8.55 an hour effective January 1, 2009.
Workers age 14 or 15 has also been increased to $7.27 an hour

12/21/11 - The Wisconsin Child Labor poster has been updated to
reflect certain occupations minors under 14 years of age are
allowed to work subject to the same hour and day restrictions as
minors who are 14 or 15 years of age.

month was revised to reflect a clarification that minors 16 and 17
years of age who are employed after 11:00pm must have 8 hours of
rest between the end of one shift and the start of the next
shift.

07/01/11 - The Wisconsin Child Labor poster has been updated to
reflect that state and federal laws permit minors under the age of
16 to work except they may not be employed during hours of required
school attendance. The maximum hours of work chart on the poster is
limited to 14 and 15 year-old minors. The revised poster also
covers the minimum wage for minors of $7.25 per hour, and the
"opportunity wage" of $5.90 per hour for the first 90 days of
employment.

reflect a new protected category against discrimination. The State
of Wisconsin, Equal Rights Division has added that employees and
job applicants who decline to attend a meeting or participate in
any communication about religious or political matters can't be
discriminated.

07/12/10 - The Wisconsin Smoke-Free Air Law, was recently signed
into law and is effective on July 5, 2010. Governor Jim Doyle
signed the legislation to make public places, including
restaurants, taverns, and other indoor workplaces, smoke-free. The
comprehensive smoking ban, prohibits smoking in workplaces in
Wisconsin. Employers are required to post "no smoking" signs.

04/14/10 - The Wisconsin Unemployment Insurance poster has been
updated to reflect that a current/valid mailing address must be
provided to receive important documents about a claim for
unemployment benefits and to make sure the claimant has notified
the post office of any recent changes to the claimants address. The
agency has also updated the online application web page address and
the web page for a complete listing of telephone service numbers
and where to obtain additional information.

07/24/08 - The West Virginia Unemployment Insurance poster was
updated with additional information regarding wage classes, weekly
benefit rates, and maximum benefit rates. The agency also changed
some of their claims offices from full-time claims offices to
itinerant claims points.

rates. Beginning July 1, 2006, the minimum wage rate will increase
to $5.85 per hour. The minimum wage will increase to $6.55 per hour
on July 1, 2007, and again to $7.25 per hour on July 1, 2008. All
three rates are on the poster. State minimum wage law does not
apply to employers if eighty percent of their employees are subject
to the FLSA. Most employers are subject to FLSA

Compensation Commission and replace it with a private insurance
company called BrickStreet. The poster was updated to reflect that

requiring nearly all private-sector employers to notify employees
of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act by posting a
notice. The deadline for this posting is January 31, 2012.

explaining job-protected leave rights for employees who care for
covered service members with a serious injury or illness, or who
face"qualifying exigencies" because a covered military member is on
