AK Poster Changes

Alaska Unemployment Insurance
11/20/09 - The Alaska Unemployment Insurance poster has been updated to reflect percentage changes to the unemployment insurance premiums (taxes) paid by employees and employers. An employee now pays 27% of the unemployment insurance premiums and the employer pays 73% of the unemployment insurance premiums. There were also some web address changes on the poster.   This is a mandatory change.

Alaska Minimum Wage
07/23/09 - The Alaska Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage was increased to $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009 and $7.75 an hour effective January 1, 2010. Panel 1 Revision Date 08/09

Alaska Unemployment Insurance
05/10/05 - Additional text notifies employees that employers may withhold the employee portion of the unemployment insurance tax from their earnings. Wages in excess of the maximum annual taxable wage set for the calendar year are non-taxable.

Alabama Child Labor
08/14/09 - The Alabama Child Labor poster was updated to reflect the recently signed legislation that reforms Alabama's child labor enforcement standards and transfers the work permit process from the public school system to the Alabama Department of Labor. The new legislation also replaces child work permits with business certificates and allows the department of labor to issue civil money penalties and/or prosecution for any violation of the law. Arkansas Minimum Wage
12/21/09 - The Arkansas Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect a change to the Wage Collection Act. The Arkansas Department of Labor now assists employees collecting wages due him or her to a maximum of $2,000.00. The previous collection amount limit was $1,000.00.

01/15/10 - The Department of Homeland Security recently updated its E-Verify Administration Manual. Employers are now required to also post the E-Verify and Right to Work posters in Spanish.

12/16/09 - The Arizona Fair Employment poster has been updated to reflect an additional protected category under Arizona's Anti-Discrimination laws. The state also prohibits discrimination in employment on the basis of results of genetic testing.

CA Poster Changes

California Workers' Compensation
08/20/10 - The California Workers' Compensation poster has been updated to reflect extensive changes made due to recently amended Medical Provider Network (MPN) and employee information regulations. Some additional rewording was also made to the poster. Employers are required to update this "Notice to Employees" poster by October 8, 2010 to comply with the amended regulations.

02/26/10 - The California OSHA poster has been updated to reflect additional information for employees. The California Department of Industrial relations had added a free worker information hotline phone number to the poster and made address changes to the headquarter and district offices.

01/13/09 - The California Unemployment Insurance poster was updated to reflect that employees may file for unemployment insurance by internet, telephone, and by mailing or faxing an unemployment insurance application to the California Unemployment Development Department. CO Poster Changes

Colorado Minimum Wage
12/10/09 - The Colorado Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect the state minimum wage for 2010. The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment has decreased the current state minimum wage rate from $7.28 an hour to $7.24 an hour effective January 1, 2010. The poster does make it clear that if an employee is covered by both state and federal minimum wage laws, the law which provides a higher minimum wage or sets a higher standard will apply. The tipped employee minimum wage has also been decreased from $4.26 to $4.22 an hour effective January 1, 2010.

Colorado Unemployment Insurance
10/13/09 - The Colorado Unemployment Insurance poster was updated with information regarding the right to be properly classified as an employee. A new law permits any person to file a written complaint with the state's Department of Labor and Employment alleging an employer is misclassifying an employee as an independent contractor. The poster was updated with information on who to contact, the complaint process available to an employee and the fines for first offense. District of Columbia Minimum Wage
07/10/08 - The District of Columbia Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase to the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage will increase to $7.55 an hour effective July 24, 2008 and to $8.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The poster was also updated with information about the District of Columbia's new Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act of 2008, which requires employers to provide paid leave to employees for illnesses and absences associated with domestic violence or sexual abuse. The poster was also updated with information about the Living Wage Act of 2006 and the Enhanced Professional Security Amendment Act of 2008. The state also added the address for the Department of Employment Services to the poster.

FL Poster Changes

Florida Minimum Wage EFL2B
11/06/09 - The Florida Minimum Wage poster has been updated with information regarding the 2010 Florida minimum wage.  The poster now clarifies that Florida minimum wage is recalculated yearly on September 30 based on the Consumer Price Index but in 2009 the new federal minimum wage took effect.  In deciding whether the federal or state minimum wage applies, federal law dictates that businesses must pay the higher of the two. The federal minimum wage will prevail over the state until such time as the Florida minimum wage becomes higher than the federal rate.  This is a mandatory change.

Florida Child Labor
11/06/09 - The Florida Child Labor poster has been updated to reflect a new web address for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.  This is a nonmandatory change.

Florida Minimum Wage
08/01/09 - The Florida Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect the new federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The minimum wage for tipped employees also increased to $4.23 an hour plus tips. The new federal minimum wage rate will be in effect until the Florida minimum wage rate (recalculated on September 30 based on the Consumer Price Index and effective every year on January 1) exceeds the federal rate. 04/13/06 - The Florida Civil Rights Act has always provided that any violation of the Act for unlawful discrimination in employment or public accommodations gives rise to a cause of action. However, it never specifically prohibited discrimination in public accommodations or defined the word "public accommodations" under the Act. A new law was passed defining this term, and the state has added the words "public accommodations" to its poster.

Idaho Unemployment Insurance
07/13/07 - In addition to the Federal Minimum Wage posting change, the Idaho Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum wage was increased to $5.85 an hour effective July 24, 2007, $6.55 an hour effective July 24, 2008, and $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The Idaho Unemployment Insurance poster was updated to reflect an agency name change. The agency name changed from the Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor to the Idaho Department of Labor. This is a mandatory change.

The Idaho Unemployment Insurance poster was updated to reflect an agency name change. The agency name changed from the Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor to the Idaho Department of Labor. Illinois Minimum Wage
06/23/09 - The Illinois Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage. The state minimum will increase to $8.00 an hour effective July 1, 2009 and $8.25 an hour effective July 1, 2010. Missouri Child Labor

The Missouri Child Labor poster is required of employers who employ youth under the age of 16 and addresses work certificates, the unacceptable types of work and workplaces, and the acceptable hours of work.

New Jersey Leave Of Absence/Family Leave Act
03/29/07 - The New Jersey Family Leave Act poster was updated to reflect that the definition of family member now includes a partner in a civil union. Under current law, any eligible employee may take up to 12 weeks of family leave in any 24-month period to care for a family member, defined as a child, parent or spouse, with a serious health condition. With the new civil union law, a person in a civil union will be able to take the same amount of leave to care for his or her partner with a serious health condition.

Oregon Family Leave
4/09/10 - The Oregon Family Leave poster has been updated to reflect a correction to the Oregon Military Family Leave information. The Oregon Department of Labor and Industries has clarified the eligibility that workers must work for an employer an average of at least 20 hours per week and the 180 day calendar period immediately preceding the leave does not apply to the Oregon Military Family Leave.

12/10/09 - The Oregon Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect the current minimum wage rate of $8.40 an hour will remain the same through December 31, 2010. The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries has also made some clarifications to the deduction of wages authorized by a collective bargaining agreement, for the fair market value of meals and lodging and for an item in which an employer is not the ultimate recipient and the employee has voluntarily signed an authorization. Clarification was also made to meal periods and information was added regarding additional rest periods to employees to express milk for a child.

12/10/09 - The Oregon Family Leave poster has been updated with information regarding employee military family leave. Leave can now be taken by a spouse or same gender domestic partner of a service member who has been called to active duty or notified of an impending call to active duty or is on leave from active duty during a military conflict.

01/07/09 - The Oregon No Smoking poster was updated to reflect a new law which prohibits smoking within 10 feet of entrances of workplaces. The poster now prohibits smoking in the workplace and within 10 feet of entrances.

PA Poster Changes

Pennsylvania Minimum Wage
07/10/07 - In addition to the Federal Minimum Wage posting change, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect an increase in the state minimum wage for small employers (those who employ 10 or fewer full-time workers). The minimum wage was increased to $6.65 an hour effective July 1, 2007, $7.15 an hour effective July 1, 2008, and $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009. The poster was also updated to reflect an increase in the 60-day youth training wage. It will increase to $5.85 an hour on July 24, 2007 and to $6.55 an hour on July 24, 2008. The state also added the 2009 minimum wage rate to the poster.

Vermont Workplace Smoking
07/11/09 - The Vermont Smoke-Free Workplace poster was updated to reflect the state's new 2009 Smoking in the Workplace law. Vermont recently amended its Smoking in the Workplace law to prohibit smoking inside all areas of the workplace. Prior to this amendment, the law allowed employers to designate smoking areas if they obeyed certain rules. Now the law requires all indoor areas of workplaces to be 100% smoke- free. Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law
10/23/09 - The federal EEOC poster was updated to include information about the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. The disability section of the poster was also clarified to comply with the ADA Amendments Act.

Family and Medical Leave Act
12/12/08 - The federal FMLA poster was updated with information explaining job-protected leave rights for employees who care for covered service members with a serious injury or illness, or who face"qualifying exigencies" because a covered military member is on active duty or has been notified of an impending call or order to active duty.

Fair Labor Standards Act
7/3/07 - The Federal Minimum Wage poster was updated to reflect the three-step increase in federal minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 an hour over the next two years.
