Wisconsin Smoke-Free Air Law - Updated!
July 9, 2010 - The
Wisconsin Smoke-Free Air
Law took effect on July 5, 2010. The ban is part of
Wisconsin Statutes Section 101.123 and violators
will be subject to fines and other penalties.
The Wisconsin Department of Commerce is still
preparing the final rules of the Wisconsin Smoke-Free Air
Law, but the current rules require that employers prohibit
smoking in all indoor areas. Employers will also be required to
post No Smoking signs featuring the international
"No Smoking" symbol - a burning cigarette enclosed
in a red circle and a red line through the cigarette.
[Updated July 13, 2010] - The No Smoking sign
that employers are required to display has been released. It
features the international "No Smoking" symbol and
the Wisconsin Smoke-Free Air Law statute.
